Project Learning<\/h1>\n

<\/span>Your child will build skills by being immersed into learning. \u00a0Learners will use math, language arts, social studies, science and art to delve into a topic. Each learner will have their work differentiated to challenge them appropriately. \u00a0For example, our \u201cSpace\u201d project learning unit will not only learn the science of space but will allow learners to then take what they have learned to design their own planet, learn and use math skills to determine where their planet is located in our galaxy, measure it\u2019s position from the sun, determine the temperature and weather conditions, and will do hands on learning doing science experiments. \u00a0Based on the conditions, questions they will answer might be; what will life be like on your planet, how do your inhabitants live, & eat and what kind of governmental system is in place. \u00a0Students will be assigned differentiated reading based on their reading level of both fiction and non-fiction. Students will work on varied writing styles to contribute to their portfolio. \u00a0Art will be integrated through out the project using a variety of mediums. At the end of each project students will present their work\u00a0publicly and demonstrate their understanding of what they discovered, were challenged by, and the skills they have developed.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>Learn drawing, painting, and art skills as you learn the language, history, appreciation and theory of art. \u00a0This class will allow students to not just use a medium, but learn skills and have time to develop those skills. \u00a0Student work will develop over time, this is not a \u201cone, done, what next\u201d \u00a0class. \u00a0Allowing students to spend multiple class periods on each project and use a medium for more than one project allows them to really see their own growth and that practice really does make us better.<\/span><\/p>\n
